Is SR1 the best for me?

Hi!

I am looking to either buy or build an automatic stroker and got really excited when I bumped into this community.

My spontaneous thought is that SR1 (maybe with the twist module) would be the right choice but I would love to get some input and also have a lot of questions.

My main use would not be interactive content. At least to start with. But rather a program that runs by itself or live remote control. That being said I am still curious about the interactive stuff.

I would like to be able to mount my kiiroo feelsensation and powerblow if possible, since I already happen to own those. I wabt to be able to mount it to a desk but also more creative solutions so it could go under my massage (milking) table. Handsfree is important.

It would be really nice to have a device that can handle long sessions at least on low or medium speed without getting overheated etc. Battery is nice. But I don’t mind a power cord at all.

If it runs silent, it is a big bonus!

I have a 3d printer (Ender 3) and I wouldn’t mind some tinkering and I know some basic coding but would prefer to not have to go too deep into the coding aspect right now.

So here is a list of questions and I would be really happy for guidance in any way!

  • Is SR1 the one for me or should I consider another model?

  • Is there any open source app or ui that could let my wife control the robot over WiFi or Bluetooth? Or would one need to have it connected to a computer via USB to control the session?

  • Are there any good vendors in Europe selling either assembled devices or DIY kits?

  • What does it approximately cost to create a durable and nice device if I print and order parts in Europe myself?

Looking forward to hear your thoughts.

Assuming you have no other devices, The Handy is the bog standard device that everyone gets. But if you’re trying to specifically use the Kiiroo sleeves and powerblow that means you want something thats compatible with hardshells. The OG handy has issues with that much weight and the Handy 2 just came out so its not an autorecommend yet since people are still just getting their models and getting to test drive them. Out of the ‘professional’ devices, Kiiroo Keon is passable for your purposes but it is weaker than the Handy in terms of speed.

The SSR1 is the design by tempest that is more or less the direct upgrade to the Keon design but I’m not sure if anyone is selling that prebuilt atm.

From what I understand, the SR1 or the Funsr1 is the one thats being sold by one merchant in the community. It’ll do the job but its not widely recommended because if you’re going for single-axis strokers, the ‘professional’ devices exist, and if you’re looking at DIY the multi-axis devices exist.

And the multi-axis devices are a whole different type of beast if you want to get into those.

NOTE: The multi-axis devices and SR1 are all usually designed with the fleshlight case in mind and you will need to buy an adapter for the kiiroo case.

Since you mentioned you have a the tools and mood for tinkering, it may be a good choice. You will be able to do your own modifications as well as maintenance if needed.

You may also consider something else from the Tempest robot lineup (SSR1, OSR2+, SR6). I have written a guide on them in the past: [Guide] What Is the OSR2 / SR6 / SSR1 and How Do I Get One?

Bit of both. The standard method is to control it with a computer software via USB. Alternatively, you can setup the robot to connect to your Wi-Fi. Your computer (in the same local network) can then controls it wirelessly via UDP.

Bluetooth isn’t standard, but I know FunSR1 by FunOSR supports Bluetooth connection, which can be controlled via virtual serial port.

If your wife lives afar, I’m thinking about Avya Remote, but I bet there are other stuff available.

Thank you both @lamp and @Falafel for taking time to write down your thoughts.

After spending more time in the forum and learning more I have been getting more and more intrigued by the multi-axis experience and thus I’ve decided to go for OSR2+. I also have to admit that the idea of movies with funscripts has been growing on me and now I kinda have to try.

Could I also control the device via UDP in my phone if everything is on the same network? Or is it PC only?
