Let's set a community standard for tolerated content

slippery slope as far as CP and loli is concerned… it may not be considered specifically CP but what it suggests is

It would be like instead of a guy sitting at a child park or at a beach taking pictures of children for inappropriate use, but instead is drawing those children in inappropriate context… where does the legal boundary fall?

Using a VPN to hack into a bank or a government site doesn’t change the legality or the punishment that will follow should you get caught.

My point is nothing should be banned simply because you dont like it

My point is that I want banned the things that are both something I dislike and something that it is illegal for me, and the majority of site users by my assumption, to see. I dislike a fair few more things than I’ve mentioned in the OP.

The reason why we’re talking about this in like/dislike terms is that Defucilis said that while site admins don’t care about the legality for users, it’s fine to continue the discussion about community preferences.

I think you might be wrong on that one. If i had to put money on it id guess the vast majority of users are Americans but i have no evidence to support that claim.
Also didnt they say the site is hosted in the USA ?

Im sorry you dont like it and im sorry you live in a country that doesnt allow the same freedoms as others.
It seems to me you have a personal decision to make and not force your situation on everyone else here.

Me, and 40% of the vote so far. I suggest wishing carefully for how much people you want to make a personal decision about a few percent of scripts posted.

I dont consume any animated or gay content at all. I also dont like overweight or milf content either.

Im just for freedom to choose and i do not personally see a problem with animated porn. Your legality argument is mute because porn in general is illegal in a lot of places. Gay people can be put to death in places so i imagine gay porn is illegal there as well.
My point being where does it stop?

Same argument going on in the USA right now with freedom of speech being attacked. (Hate speech) and blocking certain view points of social media simply because the snowflakes dont like it. Once you allow that road to be travelled then it becomes Canada or the UK where you can be jailed for making a joke on stage that the government doesnt like.

Having just done some research as im Uk based and panicked for a second I think Johntaylor1980 may be applying a slightly narrow view of the law. In the UK it is of course illegal to view Child pornography and what is classed as extreme pornography (Bestiality , non consensual porn, porn that involves serious physical injury.)

While the phrasing is fairly loose this does appear to be for cases where this is actually occuring and not animation. I understand not liking cetain things and that is why I use the blacklist filters myself. I find myself agreeing with anonymous number person in that you have to draw the line somewhere and it’s probably in the right place currently.

Also the UK mentions pirated material in the same list so were boned anyway.

Geniunely curious: how does UK law apply to sites such as Pixiv or Twitter? Those are favored social media sites used by artists and lolicon/shotacon art and animation is regularly uploaded and shared on those sites. Would not the same restrictions you say apply to Eroscripts apply to them, too?

I’m sorry, but no, there is no “slippery slope” when it comes to liberalization of child pornography. At no point in time will any significant portion of the population be open to or supportive of legalization of real CSAM. There is a clear and obvious stopping point for pretty much everyone when real children enter into the equation, be it depictions of specific ones, or AI renderings based on actual CSAM, much less anything involving the actual children themselves.

None of what’s on here comes particularly close. Even the material in the original post, while certainly closer to home than most of what we see around these parts, can in no way be mistaken for representing a specific child, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything that really does come close to that line on here, or I suspect I would’ve called it out.

The legality arguments are one thing, but this is scaremongering, and all it serves to do is to drive people into the shadows and cut off the methods they’ve found to cope with might otherwise be an extraordinarily harmful proclivity over which they have no choice.

And that’s assuming there’s even a direct link between loli and pedophilia. I mean, I assume so, because it’s the obvious leap to make. But the art style tends to be so unrealistic that I wouldn’t be shocked to discover a good chunk of that community is only attracted to said art style. There’s even a pretty common trope in anime where the characters who you get the feeling might fall into this camp also proclaim the “superiority of 2D” or somesuch. Either way, I’m not into demonizing folks who haven’t demonstrably harmed anyone else and didn’t choose to be attracted to what they’re attracted to.

The slippery slope factually exists. You are saying there is no chance an addict can slip into harsher stuff if they just stay on weed… that is complete nonsense.

It is not a very big leap to believe that loli can swerve into CP if left unchecked.

And the solution to coping is to remove anything that resembles your addiction from the equation… not find watered down versions to consume in its place and hope for the best… it is called taking responsibility. I have a nephew with a drug addiction that has flatlined him several times if it weren’t for narcan giving him a reboot… he still hasn’t got the hint. He’s in jail now and hopefully being completely cut off for a while will help him… but that is totally on him to make the decision to remove it from his life.

Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta. She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita. Did she have a precursor? She did, indeed she did. In point of fact, there might have been no Lolita at all had I not loved, one summer, an initial girl-child. In a princedom by the sea. Oh when? About as many years before Lolita was born as my age was that summer. You can always count on a murderer for a fancy prose style. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, exhibit number one is what the seraphs, the misinformed, simple, noble-winged seraphs, envied. Look at this tangle of thorns.

This isn’t even the slippery slope you were talking about, man. Keep your own argument straight ffs. You were talking about a slippery slope for the site allowing content, such as drawn images based on real children. Not about the potential for this content to lead to more serious or harmful content.

As for that argument, cite your sources. Sexual preferences aren’t a question of addiction, and treating them as something that can just be ignored or suppressed permanently is the foundation for just about every failed attempt at sexual oppression in history. Just because in this case there’s no option for actual indulgence doesn’t mean that suppression is any more viable here. Alternatives are needed.

Turn off loli and shota by default. If people want to enable it they have to go into their preferences and enable it.

You know some people / media think that porn leads to violent / pathological behaviours? Maybe we should ban everything here so people won’t have “dark thoughts”.

But for real - if you guys are scared of / don’t like specific content just mute the tags like other people do. I don’t believe this is about protection of the site / users.

addiction is addiction. So you support giving pedophiles content to appease their mental dysfunction… I see… In the case of my addicted nephew and I also have a heroine addicted cousin… giving them suboxone just got them addicted to suboxone…it didn’t treat the ailment.

Alright, you’re just a bad-faith debater. If all you can do is try to strawman actual arguments by restating them in the most disingenuous way possible you’re not worth my or anyone else’s time. Fuck off.

no, my points are valid and straight to the point. You’re just butthurt because I won’t bend to pedophiles

This idea actually has a lot of legs imo. If it actively hides it from their sight completely, then it reasonably addresses legal concerns as well for anyone but those most paranoid about prosecution. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone being prosecuted for accessing solely animated material outside of places with strict laws over any pornographic material in general (Middle East); the idea that anyone would be simply for accessing a site that also has it hidden away behind closed doors you never opened would seem almost farcical.

Not everyone that likes lolicon is sexually attracted to children. The same way most (not all) furries don’t go around having actual dogs/birds/lizards.

They are attracted to a drawn or fictional depiction of something based in reality. They haven’t committed any crimes nor acted within the realm of reality. Even if they were to think of committing these illegal crimes, no crime has been done.

Most people probably will accept the depiction of scat in a drawn format, if you were put actually put some of those people face-to-face with an actual woman shitting on them, they would most likely be disgusted. The same probably goes for a lot of people that like lolicon.

I am of the firm belief that nothing on this site should be banned unless it violates the law, which quite frankly, would be more concerned with hosting links to illegal paid content than a drawing of an anime girl with a bobble head and mosquito tits.

If you really wanna do something about sex trafficking, pedophiles, and molestation, go hit up your local politicians.
