SexLikeReal Stroker in the making

Getting a great progress with Interactive SexLikeReal Stroker that we call SLR Toy.
It’s high quality single axis stroker intended to work out of the box with SexLikeReal services, including flat videos smartphone app with scripts we will be launching early 2025. The next generation device is coming with twist feature.

It will be powered with the SLR Firmware also used for OSR2/SR6 devices and providing ultimate connectivity with no additional setup required. Will be available for 3rd party apps integration vis SLR app or cloud services similar to the Handy API logic.

Heating sleeve is the biggest R&D challenge. We probably should look into proprietary sleeves with heating coming from sleeves housing. Let me know if any thoughts.

It’s all different mechanics and high quality ergonomics that will work with Fleshlight. I don’t think you can compare the two.

Make the DRM STOP!

Just a generic question but, does the team working on this have electrical/mechanical engineers on the team? I’m honestly just interested in how someone gets into the engineering space for sex toys, it’s fascinating.

Not like they show up very prevalently on LinkedIn, at least from what I see.

I think it is because you mention Handy sleeves above that is causing the comparison. The only way those can really be contained on a stroker is with a strap, which doesn’t work too well with Fleshlight sleeves or their shells.

A deal breaker for me is if the API:s and integration will be guaranteed to be open so other independent (non-SLR) applications can connect and control the device without risk of being locked out by SLR on a whim. If you can’t guarantee that I personally won’t even consider looking at the device.

@Tempest is our Lead Engineer for mechanical stuff.
It’s rather a space tech school.

The rest of the team are great customer electronics pros

SLR is no DRM or what do you mean?

We won’t be putting any extra locks.
We make it work with the SLR first then getting open API or something

I think he’s is mentioning locking the API, like was done for the site when SLR locked it to DEOVR and to not share anymore preventing Heresphere and other VR viewers from accessing the site and interactions.

Just want to ensure that the stroker wouldn’t ONLY work with SLR videos.

Nice, definitely trust Tempest for designs.

Always wondered how it would feel to get out of Automotive engineering and into sex toys lol

So you’re saying this this will work entirely off-grid with Heresphere and a samba drive full of videos and scripts without ever phoning home?

Something else they can keep raising prices on and continually limiting it’s use.

That’s just bad. Definitely not something we want to support

So stupid DRM bullsh** it is. Hard pass, Viagra + Cialis + Caffeine hard pass, but…

Congrats on not breaking character. Never stop never stopping.

Monetizing wanks is just low…

Will there be any plans for a proper manual or guide for troubleshooting? More importantly, will there be a guide for user repairability and maintenance?

I’ve had issues with a Handy device I’ve owned for over 2.5 years, and the only support I received was a 25% discount from customer support past the one-year mark.

I ended up buying another used Handy device for a few dollars with several new components, but it also had unrelated power issues from the original owner. I disassembled and reassembled my device over 30 times using the brand new components from the donor Handy, but I was never able to make it work as smoothly as a new device.

This was primarily due to the lack of knowledge about what exactly goes where, how tight things should be, exact size specifications of certain components (screws, motor spindle, lead screw), what distance certain components should be from certain reference points, and what pieces should be assembled in what order (I have plenty more details that need to be paid attention to). These issues could have been easily clarified in a user manual.

Overall, even with the help of other two most knowledgeable people on the Handy Discord, it was a very frustrating experience with tons of trial and error.

Yeah I agree, one of the biggest advantages of the handy is its open API. Without an open API, I wouldn’t buy a SLR toy.

Remember that there are two aspects of “open API”. One is the actual API. The other part that some have reacted on here is if a server is required or if you can connect to the device directly via BT, wifi, USB etc. I think the requirement of a server is something that will make some to back away. Having the option to connect to the device without a remote server is important to many.

So the question is, will you be able to play a video with a matching script using a 3rd party software when the device has no Internet connectivity?

Good point, personally don’t care that much if it needs to upload something to a server like with the handy but I get why some might. Also the handy does have streaming support so it is capable of doing that in another mode and some extra software I suppose.
