SexLikeReal update: Submit Scripts Directly to the Community!

Thank you. I don’t understand what motive this person would have to upload my script when it’s available here for free. Were they trying to sell it to people?

I would rather just post it as a paid script on here, if its a good script after I’ve put all that work into it, I’ve tried submitting scripts to SLR is its a waste of time they just get refused even when I know they are good, the only working option I can see is to let scripters sell their scripts independently on SLR after going through all the trouble of getting a UTR number and vat registered just find out that submitting scripts to SLR is a waste of time is very annoying

You can stream script together with the video, this is much easier then downloading it for the user

User submitted scripts are not for sale, you cannot buy them, only download and stream, and users do not get paid for submitting them

Ahh ok. Thank you for explaining that

That makes it even stranger that someone would waste their own time uploading someone else’s work to a different website if they didn’t even have a financial incentive.

Oh well, thanks for catching it and fixing it

This script upload feature should be private instead of public.

I would be interested in uploading scripts for free, if only for my own use. I’ve almost finished with an SLR hosted script and it would have been VERY helpful to be able to have the ability to upload the script as I was updating and testing it. I use a quest for viewing content and it would just make the testing/editing phase more convenient.

I think SLR should keep it private for the user until they want to give it to the community, it can then go through the verification and proof of ownership process, and the user could be offered 3 ADDITIONAL AI scripts (or more) for their efforts.

And it counts towards the monthly quota because??? The last rationale given by doubleVR was that he couldn’t afford to give away more than 3 scripts per month, so now he can’t even afford to give away free things? Must be tough times there!

One way I could think of everyone benefiting from this would be if users uploaded other axes, such as pitch or twist scritpts that could be sycned with existing up-down L0 scripts. Then users could rate scripts and axes based on the device they are using and the script software they are using. Then the AI could learn what works best.

Not sure why we would want SLR’s AI to work better. They just monetize it, making them wealthy and you paying more to access it. If we were contributing to train a public AI model that anyone could then use, that would be different. As it is, I don’t want to contribute to ANYTHING SLR does. They are a dishonest, predatory company.

This looks like it could be good for a scripter like me to upload my free content to SLR and nothing more. I would still publish my premium scripts on Gumroad. Is there any incentive to uploading to SLR like user marketing or free/discounted subscriptions?

Otherwise why give free content and pay SLR at this point.

It kind of looks like 2 more people uploaded my script for

Really don’t understand what the motive is here unless they’re just doing it on accident while trying to stream the script with the scene

I think slr never removed your script. It’s the same people that did it earlier, but it shows their names now.

Ahh ok, when i looked at it before it said it was uploaded by “ussinternal”, i thought that was a username :joy:

An interesting aspect is that you need a premium subscription to even check if your own scripts are uploaded without your permission. Just because something is free doesn’t mean that it can be shared without restrictions. And yes, I know that it’s impossible to enforce on the Internet in general, but commercial actors are a different thing. I don’t want my scripts to be used for profit or for a business to gain a competitive advantage.

Yes, I guess it’s different if you allow it by posting your own scripts on their site.

What slr is doing now is profiting from stolen work. I don’t know how hard it is to remove the script but it doesn’t seem like it’s that big of the deal. @doublevr how about fighting the piracy now?

Edit: All good, they solved it.

Get in here and answer for your hypocrisy.

You hide behind false professionalism with your script acceptance guidelines and also like to out users for scripting content that you don’t agree with or find to be “piracy” when nobody asked you.

But you have no issue with setting up a program/service that’s legit a weaker version of ES that promotes actual piracy for a service you pay scripters for, and then say nothing as you profit from it.

Given your trivial extensive rants on other posts, I find it comical that after a week you haven’t said a word as your PR person fumbles with questions, and provides no real response. See now if any time was a time for your “professionalism” it would be now.

So again, get in here, this is your queue if you haven’t figured it out yet, we want answers on in what world you thought this was a good idea? We all know you have so much to say.

I honestly dont see anyway this can operate without being abused. They’ve stated they are working on a uniqueness check which means they launched without one in place which is not a great start.

But lets say they get a uniqueness check in place. The only way to tell would be to compare it to the original script. so they would need a copy of every script on eroscripts and for sale privately to tell if its unique.

If they are going to wait for someone to complain about a script thats being shared being a copy then your reliant on all script makers being subs to SLR and policing it for you.

The other question is enforcement. If someone decides to upload a whole bunch of peoples scripts without there permission what are they going to do, ban them and lose out on the subs, seems unlikely.

I get the desire for experimentation but it does seem that quite often things get launched on SLR and then the issues get worked on in later months as opposed to them having someone on staff who’s job is to figure out the issues before launch.

Anyone take a look at the Terms & Conditions that script uploaders have to check through? https://www.sexlikereal.com/pages/scriptdevagreement
