SexLikeReal update: Submit Scripts Directly to the Community!

It may be non-exclusive, but your sure are staking some claims to ownership and permission to do a lot more than “share with each other”.

Why are you guys so scammy?

I don’t come to that conclusion. It explicitly say nonexclusive so it is ok that the script is published elsewhere.
The other stuff is to give them freedom to do whatever they want like forever without an option to revoke the grant.

I have nothing to add that @sol_K didn’t already eloquently and concisely said. Amazing focus of thought and articulation. 100% agree.

Wow, that mistake was only up for like 3 minutes before I edited it! You’re fast!

I agree, edited.

Maid Surprise - SLR Originals - VR Porn Video | SexLikeReal

may have happened again

Just pure chance
Still, they give themselves a lot of rights well outside the purpose of the service (e.g. use for research, training etc. and not possible to revoke the grant they get), but maybe the agreement is generic and not only for this script sharing thing.

I don’t think the bit about granting rights to use the scripts as training data is generic, but I would bet he’d blow a gasket if scripts downloaded off of SLR were used similarly.

I can only assume that all of the silence from SLR about this means they are moving to a more community sharing philosophy and hypothetically if people were to start sharing the scripts they had bought or downloaded from SLR on eroscripts they are completely OK with that.

Of course these scripts would be intended for training purposes to help people make better scripts in the future and if not it would be because the person who uploads them didn’t read all the terms and conditions or didnt care about the people who made them.

I dont usually agree with @withy, as their hatred of SLR causes them to see the worst in them, but in this case I’m finding it difficult to see how their wrong.

I think there are a number of scripts that are free on Eroscripts that have been uploaded by other users on SexLikeReal, not the original authors.

I would advise make it clear to users that you have to be the original author of the script. PLEASE make this obvious to users. Screenshotted below is the submission form as it is.

Also, I would advise just wiping all uploaded scripts for now until this feature is fully ready OR make uploaded scripts private as has been indicated in the past.

Edit: To clear some stuff up, you can’t actually re-purchase uploaded scripts or download them, it’ll just redirect to the main website. If a script owner wants to check a script manually against their own script, there is no way to do it other than visually using the Heatmap (which isn’t a viable option imo).

They should also be taken out of the 3 scripts per month download restriction.

I didn’t even do a full read yet…but not only do you not get anything for uploading scripts. You’re also potentially liable if the content you scripted wants to go after you in some way for “fair use” and SLR isn’t even though they’re the one’s selling your content.

As an unbiased reader, this just sounds like a cash grab by SLR disguised in doing ‘good for the community’ post and nothing more.

SLR attracts more premium subscribers and profits off of people’s scripts while not having to pay them. It’s a win-win for them.

They want all the scripts that are on here uploaded to SLR so they’ll be the go to place for VR scripts and after that, there will be no competition for them.

If SLR intends to make money off of people, then they should pay them for their scripts plain and simple. Otherwise, they’re just profiting off of people’s time and labor.

Not surprised that it’s already a shitshow. People still using SLR really should have a really good reason. They already tried other stuff in the past (you can read that on Reddit) and tried to gatekeep features like DLNA (even removed it until the realized the backlash is a bit too big).

Then you have the AI script initiativ which is cool for people that don’t want to be immersed or that only need scripts which are 50% okayish. But those now also count towards your monthly download volume towards scripts.

Then peeps are also missing out on lots of other sites since a few months, because sites are leaving (VRBangers/VRConk, RealJamVR, them pushing away KinkyGirlsBerlin for example). Since then except for some rare original scenes and the passthrough ones, the SLROriginals went down in quality a lot imo.

And now we have this one here with the owner, once again, dodging the questions and the topics and everyone of us in here doing advertising for them.

To be clear, I do not hate SLR in general. Some directors are pretty cool, there seem to be a lot of nice, normal staff over there as well. What I do hate is dishonesty, shilling, and bullying. SLR’s owner/mouthpiece is shitty to pretty much everyone: vendors, partners, employees, and customers. He shills endlessly, everywhere, and talks so much bullshit that he has lost all credibility. He takes advantage of people like he is entitled to it. To top it off, he is a troll and a bully on his own forums and others.

I will call that shit out wherever I see it. I think it is a service to the communioty, so that other, less experienced users don’t get scammed. And you can keep the “well, it’s just a business” nonsense. Running a business doesn’t give you free license to be an unethical jerk, no matter what idiot billionaires tell you.

It wasn’t so long ago SLR were offering $500 per new script for their Originals series. I guess they decided they’d rather pay nothing, have other people work for free, and dress it up as some kind ‘opportunity’.

I actually signed up to the initial offer, just because $500 seemed an absurd price to pay for a single script. I neglected to follow through on it because I’m not supporting a business that has a petulant bully for a boss, and with serious question marks over how talent are treated.

Was not trying to have a go at you withy quite the opposite. What I was trying to say was that your points shouldn’t be discounted just because of the beef you have with Doublevr.

I would also say that I personally dont know how doublevr talks to his vendors, partners and employees but agree that the way he talks to his customers is an issue and one I have called out when it was at its worse on here. They appear to have mellowed on eroscripts but the few times I have gone into the SLR forum show the same old knee jerk “You wont be missed.” reactions there.

I also agree with @anonymoses that hiding they are not being upfront to less informed customers by just putting an upload your own script feature in big lettering and then hiding everything else in a wall of terms and conditions that no one will ever read.

It’s hard to believe this is unintentional:

  1. They made it so the users who upload a script don’t know the feature is only for scripts they created.
  2. They put the script behind anonymous name “USSinternal” so you can’t even say if the script was posted by at least someone with similar name to the author.
  3. To download a script you need to use your free token. This means that if someone starts to upload your whole library you can only check 3 scripts a month. As a scripter you need to choose if you want to download scripts you paid for or if you want to check and defend your own scripts.

They basically made it near impossible to tell if the script is posted by its author. As always, they only defend the piracy when it has negative impact on their sales. The other way around is apparently ok.

If SLR is going to rip content from this forum without consent and use it to add value to their paywalled platform, that should be grounds to ban them from promoting here.

It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if they used most of the free scripts here as labeled training data for their AI-generated funscripts. It would even serve as part of their validation step for uploaded content: scan an uploaded funscript against what they have in their database that they may have scraped off of Eroscripts.

The stuff that is being released now is likely scripts that weren’t in the training set for one reason or another. The Maid scene for example with Nicole Doshi and CJ Miles, that was recently released and it’s likely they don’t have that in their training data.

But that’s all speculation. I have no solid evidence they scraped this site for free scripts as training data for their model.

Yup, no solid evidence, but of their original batch of released AI scripts, more than 50% had a free script available here.
However, the broader world hasn’t even figured out the legality of using others’ data to train AI/LLMs, so I’d call that a gray-area sorta-douchey move at worst.
