Wanting to use this site more, looking for help

So I use the Handy and I mainly use my Oculus Quest 2 with it. Not necessarily for VR, I just enjoy the hands free big screen aspect of it. I have an SLR subscription, but many of the videos get to the speed I’m wanting. Faptap is great, I’m just looking for other resources.

I’ve tried using the funscript tab on the handyverse page but that has had minimal success. So what would you recommend as a good funscript site that I could use with just the Oculus, no PC involved. I’ve seen things about using DEO, Pigasus, and Heresphere. Since 2 of those are ones you have to pay for though, I wanted to ask and get opinions before I commit to one.

Another issue I’ve ran into is using mega to download the videos. Some videos won’t download, says they aren’t available, and then I’ll hit the issue of running out of downloads on my free account. Do I basically have to pay for that as well to be able to really use it for this site since so many scripts use mega for their video uploads?

If I could get some feedback on any or all of this I would really appreciate it.

Do you have scripts with your SLR subscription? One of the easiest ways to enjoy their content with scripts is to load DeoVR on your Quest, connect the Handy, and go. SLR is adding more flat AKA 2D content soon too.

Personally, I use HereSphere on my Quest Pro with xbvr. xbvr lets me match downloaded videos to the scene information available from the various VR porn sites. I do strongly prefer VR content, but I manually add various scripted PMVs and similar content from EroScripts. xbvr associates the scene, video, script, and - if available - subtitles together. HereSphere offers a nice gallery view and you can easily search your library in various ways.

Once you pick a scene, the video is streamed from xbvr to your Quest. The script is sent to your Handy over wifi automatically as well. xbvr gives me the power to source content from a variety of places and store it together in one place under my control - no sudden studio removals to worry about like with SLR.

The downside of the xbvr approach is you need local or NAS storage for every video you want to collect. That can add up quickly for 8K VR content.

I’ll have to take a look at the flat videos, I hadn’t even thought of that because that may offer what I’m looking for. So with what you’re saying, is the xbvr way a way to use it completely through oculus? If I have to use a computer to download the content that’s fine, I just don’t want to keep it plugged into my computer.

Update: Might just be because I’m on my phone, but I can’t seem to find any flat videos with scripts. They’re just videos and there’s no way to sort them in any way.

HereSphere has a PC and a Quest version. With either version HereSphere will control the Handy over wifi. No PC needed. HereSphere has a web browser, which will work with many sites - FapTap, SLR. But you won’t get a VR video experience playing that way - it’ll just be a flat screen within VR. There are a few sites - CzechVR is one, POVR is another - that support HereSphere’s API. That lets HereSphere display a VR gallery view for browsing scenes, automatically play video in the right format, fetch funscripts, etc.

Since not all sites support the extra features, xbvr is a way to basically host your own VR-enabled porn site for yourself. You are accessing everything over your local network, so HereSphere talks over your wifi to whatever device is running xbvr - a computer or NAS is typical. Once it is setup you can do everything from the Quest itself - no fiddling with the computer.

There’s a topic here on EroScripts for setting up xbvr that explains in more detail if you are interested in that route.

So if I wanted to take a script from here that correlates with a video, where would I go with it? Heresphere or xbvr? If I am going to watch just a single scene, I would prefer it be action based. If it’s a pmv then I could just find any script and it’s no big deal. But it sounds like you’re saying instead of having to download the video, I could just download the script, bring up the video link, and then it would work. Do I have this right?

With HereSphere you can stream videos and the scripts from sites that support this. I think CzechVR is the only one at the moment, and they don’t have very many scripts available.

HereSphere will let you stream a video and use a local script, but I’ve never tried to do this so I’m fuzzy on the specific details.

xbvr lets you host the video and script yourself, so you can watch anything - whether the original site supports HereSphere or not, whether they offer scripts or not. But you have to download both the video and script, store them, and add them to xbvr. Then HereSphere will let you watch the downloaded video and downloaded script from xbvr. If you are using the Quest version of HereSphere it doesn’t require interacting with the PC.

Ok, I think I get it now. Thank you! Guess I’ll have to invest in heresphere.

I’ll just have to probably actually use it to get more familiar with the process because I’m still just unsure. But I’m sure there’s forums and instructions on here that I could use to figure it out.

Start with HereSphere and see what it can do. There is a demo version for Quest available through Itch.io, but you’d be sideloading it onto the Quest.

Download – HereSphere VR Video Player

What do you mean by side loading?

You have to enable developer mode and use third party tools - SideQuest: Oculus Meta Quest Games & Apps including AppLab Games ( Oculus App Lab ) (sidequestvr.com) - to install the HereSphere APK from your PC onto the Quest.

It’s like sideloading an app on an Android device - because that’s what the Quest is basically.

The simplest way is just to pay for HereSphere (I do recommend) but here is a guide to starting to using it including side loading if you want the demo:

The simplest way to play downloaded vids is transfer them to your VR kit or stream vids from your computer via SMB (which is covered in the guide above). But XBVR is a better experience. Recommend.

Pro tip for mega: if you force close the service and bounce your VPN it resets the free download limit. They do it per IP, not account.
