Publishing requirements:
- There are some publishing requirements from artists, that must be followed.
- Please report changes and missing entries to keep this list up to date
- This only applies to the media paired with a script.
- We will not enforce restrictions that make a script diminish in usability.
- Under reasonable circumstances we may ignore these restrictions
Required Tagging: Certain content must be clearly tagged/titled:
- This list has grown to a point we have moved this to a dedicated page: Required Tagging
Reminder:
Check these groups below for the tags they hide in their descriptions
Mute Controversial - Hides controversial tags (These are muted by default in new accounts)
Mute Unpopular - Hides tags in Mute Controversial and more intense tagsYou may unmute some of them back in Your Tracking Preferences
- You may find more info on muting other tags in Hiding Tags Guide
- If you report these tags repeatedly because you don’t like them that is report spam/abuse. This will result in a permaban.
2. Harassment
- Harassing or threatening other users is not tolerated. Moderators will silence/suspend users behaving this way, which can be temporary or permanent.
- Report spam/abuse will also not be tolerated and may result in punitive action.
3. Piracy
- Piracy is strictly forbidden on this forum.
- Any media not intended for preview must be hosted externally.
- If a user requests a link to be removed, we will verify the user’s ownership and take down the link.
- Some users have requested their lost/removed scripts never be republished. This list is maintained here # TODO link to be placed
This forum does not comply with DMCA notices.
4. Script Ownership
- We will treat script ownership in respects to copyright laws in the US.
- Any person publishing their scripts are unequivically the owners of their scripts and can excersize their license.
- Paid scripts are entirely controlled by the publisher
- Free scripts are subject to fair use for edits/remixes, permission required for re-publishing
- Users caught publishing other users scripts without permission will be banned.
5. Definition of Free Scripts
Our preferred way of distributing Scripts > Free Scripts is attaching them to the topics. This allows us to generate heatmaps, and users to have a good experience downloading them.
Scripts in the Scripts > Free Scripts section must meet our definition of free. For a script to be considered free, a user must be able to download the script, no-strings attached, and without barriers requiring more than a click of a link.
The following are examples of barriers:
- Account signups
- Requiring an email
- Requiring joining a subscription (even free subscriptions)
- Requiring waiting on an ad
Rules specific to free scripts
- Advertising your 3rd party platforms like Patreon or Gumroad inside your post is allowed.
- Advertising your paid scripts specifically is not allowed. Put them in a separate paid script post.
- Publishing the script in your third party platforms is also allowed, and is not considered a barrier.
- These rules ONLY apply to scripts, the media does not have to be free.
Rules specific to paid scripts
- Paid script previews are not considered “free scripts” and should be a part of Scripts > Paid Scripts topic.
- Scripts > Free Scripts may only allow a slice of a paid script if it was originally a separate video, e.g. a 20-minute originally separate “Part A” video
- In this case any images that are not a cover and don’t depict actual video are not allowed as they may cause confusion about actual content.
Please flag users who do not follow these rules.
6. Free Links Policy
Script Creators:
To ensure no free links be posted in your thread you must:
- Include the no-free-links tag
- Remove the surrounding line to disclose in the topic:
With comments:

With comments removed:

Appears as:

- Ensure there is a valid link to the video. no-free-links topics with no valid media link will be moved to Scripts > Archive lost-media
Script Users:
- If there isn’t a free link to a video, help out the community by finding and sharing that link yourself. If you’ve tried your best but can’t found a source, you can ask in the thread if someone else can share a link.
- If all the links to video in thread are dead and the source was not found in a while, report it for lost-media for archival
- Do not ask for links in the replies if another user has already asked for a link.
- Do not ask for links in the replies if a free link is already available.
- Do not DM scripters asking for links, instead ask in the replies so everyone can benefit.
- Users who do not comply with the no free links policy can have their post removed,
Repeated abuse will result in further punitive action.
7. Bump Abuse
Bumping your own topic with a comment that is not directly related to topic content is considered
bump abuse. Repeated abuse will result in a ban.
-
Script collections - You may intentionally bump these threads with news regarding your posts. (You can still violate bump abuse if you just repeatedly bump your collection without any useful information)
-
Organic bumps - Bumps that occur from organic discussion or highly relevant information is NOT BUMP ABUSE
Examples
-
Abuse example:
- commenting “I have new unrelated topics” on a script topic (edit topic instead)
- commenting “I have swapped a working link to a working link for the same thing”
- making the same comment on 3+ topics (use script collections instead)
-
Allowed examples:
- replying to other users
- adding new content to Script Collections - editing OP bumps the topic
- notifying of large content updates - moving to Scripts > Free Scripts, removing no-free-links, adding vr video
Note: Topics will bump when you comment or the topic is edited while being a WIKI. We prefer you edit topics rather than creating new comments.
8. Advertising
- If you represent a company, let an admin know and we will organize a company group for you for easier communication and transparency.
- No advertising on other people’s topics unless it’s clearly relevant and contributing to the conversation.
- If the OP requests you remove a post from their thread citing advertising, you must remove said post.
- All affiliate links must be explicitly disclosed as such
- Under the Review section sponsored reviews must be clearly indicated using the provided template.
9. How to report:
-
When reporting a post you are given these options:
-
When reporting an original post ALWAYS use “Something else” and explain the report in detail.
-
Inappropriate, spam:
If used and not obvious your report will most likely will be ignored, only use this for clear cases of spam or inappropriate behaviour. -
Illegal:
Use the text box to explain how the post is illegal, if you don’t this report will be ignored. -
Something Else:
Use this in most cases and explain the issue. If there is no explanation, this report will be ignored.
